My baby is 2!!!!!

From this:

To this:

I can't believe that it has been 2 years since Karlie was born. She has brought such a joy to our lives we can't imagine life without her. She has changed so much from the little baby that we brought home. She definitely has an independent streak and wants to do everything herself! She is the joy of our life and love her more and more each day....if that is even possible!

She has also chosen her future career!

Crock Potting

I found this great blog about a woman that is crock potting for a year. Jeff and I may have to try it. We will start slow and shoot for a week. Wish us luck.

Back to work

We just got back from spending a week in Driggs. It was so much fun, we went to Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Park and Jackson. It was so nice getting away from work for a week but it made it really hard to come back. Karlie was so good in the car with all that driving but I think that she was ready to go home. Here are some pictures:

I never get sick of this view We saw a lot of bison in Yellowstone

but I think the coolest thing was seeing a grizzly bear and a black bear

Karlie liked the mud pots and the waterfalls:

Grand Teton NP is as beautiful as it always is:
Chapel of Transfiguration:
Karlie trying to feed a bird her cookie:
Chapel of the Sacred Heart:

One of the moose we saw:

Karlie and daddy enjoying the scenery:

Karlie's first ski lift ride (I am sure that there will be more to come)

and finally.......the hot air balloon rally

It was a long week but Jeff and I were reminded of just how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

Goodbye Betsy

Well, we sold Jeff's car today. She was a good car and served us well. It will be sad to see her drive by but it was the best decision. We had a lot of great memories tied to that car and we will always have those even with the car gone.

Goodbye Betsy!

Our new car!!!!

Please welcome to the family....... Betsy II

We are the proud new owners of one 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5i AWD sedan! We are getting rid of the old blue Subaru... it was hard for us to come to that conclusion, but the voice of reason says it is time. We are keeping the Explorer (that's Jeff's fishin' truck). The Subaru will be better on fuel economy and we needed a second reliable vehicle for Aneesa while Jeff is traveling for work. We are really excited about it!

I know it's been a while

I know that it has been a while since I updated this but things have been pretty hectic around here.
Here's the update:

  • Jeff started a new job. He is now the Coordinator of Marketing and Development at the Outreach school here at UW. He started April 28th and is liking it so far. We are excited for all the new adventures that this job will bring and are even more excited that he is using his degree.

  • Karlie has finally reached 20lbs!!! WOO HOO! She can now legally sit forward facing in her car seat, even though she has been doing this since September. She is still at the UW daycare center and really enjoys all the fun activities they do there. Karlie has also become a cover girl. Her photo was featured on the front page of the Laramie Boomerang. The story is about the child care shortage in Wyoming and they came to take pictures at Karlie's school. The newspaper picked on of Karlie playing to use on the front page. Click here to see the article and photo. She is so dang cute!

  • I am still at my job in Academic Affairs and don't really plan on leaving anytime soon unless I get some amazing job offer that I just can't turn down.

We are all ready for summer to come. Karlie can't wait to play outside on her new play set and Jeff can't wait to go fishing. I can't wait to be able to wear flip flops again without having to worry about hypothermia. It will also be nice to be able to take Karlie to the park after work/school without having to bundle her up.

This past weekend we took Karlie up to the mountains and had a picnic with some friends and then went for a hike. Karlie loved being in her hiker back-pack which is nice since usually she wants to walk everywhere.

Ready for the hike:

CHEESE

Whenever Karlie sees a camera she instantly says "CHEESE" and we get this silly smile!

What a weekend

Saturday was so beautiful that we decided to take Karlie to the park! There was a little snow on the ground but over all it was a nice warm day, something we don't usually get in February. Karlie loves going to the park and loves to swing and go down the slide.

Karlie and daddy's footprints in the snow!

Sunday we took Karlie swimming (sorry no pictures) and she loved every minute of it. She has really taken to the water, she even went down the slide at the pool.

Just starting out!

Well, since this is my first blog I thought I would just test out how it looks. Jeff is the more creative one so I am sure I will have his input a lot.
